Good research requires good logistics support and people with local knowledge who speak the respondent’s language. Good research starts with commitment, an open attitude and a warm and friendly smile.

I grew up in Brunei, Malaysia and Japan and have always been fascinated by Asia and the differences between Asian and Western culture, norms and values. When I needed a new challenge back in 2005, Asia was the natural place for me to start looking. I wanted to create a place where East and West could meet, a place where the values that East and West share could flourish. I also wanted to apply my expertise and experience in managing and executing qualitative fieldwork to the Asian market.
One of the lessons I have learned in the 15 years that I have been in the qualitative fieldwork business is that people and relationships are the basis for the success of any endeavor. The manner in which you deal with the people around you can make or break your business or project. Respondents, for instance, require the same care, attention and respect as clients. We pamper our respondents at qpa, in much the same way that we pamper our clients, with warm and welcoming venues, a hot cup of tea or coffee, something tasty to eat for lunch or dinner.
Obviously, clients come to qpa for more than just a hot cup of tea or coffee. They come to us because they want the assurance that their project will be executed professionally and on time. At qpa, we can give clients that assurance because of our short communication lines, our hands-on approach and the people we employ. Our dedicated and enthusiastic team consists of a mix of young talent and people with years of experience in the qualitative and quantitative fieldwork business. From our CEO, with more than 25 years experience in quantitative data collection, to our Fieldwork Manager for Malaysia, who speaks 5 local languages, all of our people make their own unique contributions to the projects we manage and execute. Our people know how to roll up their sleeves and deliver.
